Significant Accomplishments

Helenmary's theatrical experience began with her involvement in community and school productions at the age of nine. She has had the pleasure of interning as a stage technician at the Oberlin Summer Music Theatre and was later hired there as an assistant to the designer for several summers in the early 1970's. She later attended Kent State University as a theatre major for two years. Helenmary worked as an executive secretary for five years for Boyd, Watterson and Company, an investment management firm. After a brief hiatus for marriage and motherhood, Helenmary began working again in community theatre as an actress and costume assistant in the early 1980's. She started the puppet company "Dall and Cooper Productions" in 1980 and later formed another puppet company, "Hobbydada," in 1986 to perform educational puppet shows which also produced a series in 1991 on Economics for the PBS station WVIZ. She is a long standing member of Puppeteers of America (P of A). Since 1992 she has been with Women in History, a non-profit organization that performs educational first person vignettes of the lives and achievements of women in American History.

Community Involvement

Helenmary is President of the board for Metro Hospital's Friends of Mothers and Infants. She is very actively involved at St. Paul's Church in Cleveland Heights. She has gone to the Dominican Republic on behalf of her church to help build a hospital in a remote community. She is a member of many other civic and community organizations. She supports many theatre and arts organizations. She is also involved in her children's schools.
