WOMEN IN HISTORY - ACTRESS PROFILE - LISA L. WILEY

Picture
Picture
Lisa L. Wiley as Louisa May Alcott

Profile

Lisa joined “Women In History” in 2018.  She has always loved reading about the human side of historical figures and learning about what makes them “tick”.  She felt that history classes in school seemed to always focus on the men in our history and she would think, “surely women contributed too”.  Feeding that intrigue she discovered “indeed they did and continue to do so”.
Lisa enjoys the opportunity that Women In History provides her for promoting these historical female figures, telling their stories and making certain that they too are known for their discoveries and the sacrifices.

Lisa graduated from Ashland University with a degree in Art and Theatre. She is an actress,  voice over artist,  sound designer and props designer.  She has voiced several audiobooks and has performed in several Cleveland area theatres.

Memorable Women In History Moments

My most memorable moments are the question and answer sessions and the discussion that follows a performance.  If someone asks me a question I don't have an answer to, you can bet that I will do research and know that answer before the next performance. My performance goals are to tell the audience something new about that figure and also to inspire them to learn more about her.  My most satisfying moments are the times when an audience member tells me “I didn't know she did/said that” or says “Now I have to read more about her, she sounds fascinating”.
